PURPOSE:To make a test of a spatial filter simple and efficient with a small number of test patterns by adding a control means and using a RAM for dithering as a coefficient register for the arithmetic of the spatial filter. CONSTITUTION:A specific number of arithmetic coefficients are set in the RAM 18 for dithering and a register 16 at the time of initialization. For image processing, a coefficient control part 20 takes coefficients out of the RAM 18 for dithering and they are outputted as coefficients alpha and beta by the shift register of the control part. When the spatial filter 12 is tested, a multiplexer 22 selects the signal from the coefficient control part 20 with an external test signal to perform the arithmetic of the filter 12. Thus, the RAM 18 for dithering which is used by a dither processing circuit 14 is used as the register for the filter arithmetic coefficient and then the coefficients are only set in the RAM at the time of the initialization to enable the coefficient to be varied, pixel by pixel, at the time of the image processing, thereby efficiently testing the filter. |
