PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for production of a negative voltage by comparing the level of input voltages based on combinations of outputs of two threshold level circuits to compare analog inputs or multi-value digital inputs directly through multi-value logic. CONSTITUTION:The comparator circuit is provided with a complement circuit 10 applying electronic processing to at least one of 1st and 2nd input voltages X, Y, only the 2nd input voltage Y in this case in a prescribed stage and providing an output of a voltage corresponding to a complement and 1st and 2nd threshold level circuits 20, 30 receiving a voltage Y' equivalent to a complement of the input voltage Y and the other input voltage X and inverting the output when the sum of the voltages exceeds a prescribed threshold level. In this case, when both outputs of the 1st and 2nd threshold level circuits 20, 30 are inverted, it is discriminated to be X>Y, when only the 2nd threshold level circuit 30 is inverted, it is discriminated to be X=Y, and when both the outputs of the 1st and 2nd threshold level circuits 20, 30 are inverted, it is discriminated to be X<Y. Then outputs A, B of the 1st and 2nd threshold level circuits 20, 30 are given to a discrimination circuit 40 and the result of comparison is displayed or outputted to other circuits as a signal. |
