PURPOSE: To provide a developer unit which has a donor roll that can accurately alienate an electrode wire from a donor roll. CONSTITUTION: A developing unit contains a housing which defines a chamber that stores a supplying body of toner particles. The unit also includes a donor roll 40 which contains an outer circumference surface that is electrically non- conductive, the donor roll 40 which has an central area 104 and opposite end areas 102 and 106 which are arranged on both sides of the area 104, and the diameter 112 of the area 104 is shorter than the diameters 110 and 114 of the opposite end areas 102 and 106. Furthermore, the unit includes an electrode wire 41, the wire 41 is arranged at a developing zone that adjoins the opposite end areas 102 and 106 and alienated from the central area 14 of the roll 40. The electrode wire 41 separates toner particles 44 from the roll 40 and is electrically biased to form toner powder cloud 124, and the toner particles 44 from the toner cloud 124 develops the latent image. |
