PURPOSE:To lessen the dependency on visual field angle, to enable a liquid crystal display device to display high-quality image and to make the device suitable for large-screen display by successively laminating a polarizing layer, color filter and pixel electrode on the inner side of substrates, one of which is a glass substrate having transparency. CONSTITUTION:The glass substrate 11 consisting of a low alkali glass is rubbed in one direction and fine grooves are formed on the glass substrate 11. Next, an aq. soln. incorporated with dichromatic dye is applied thereon by using a spin coater and thereafter, the coating is overcoated with an acrylic resin as the protective film to form the polarizing plate 18. A chromium oxide thin film is then formed as a low-reflection layer by a sputtering method and thereafter, the patterns of a black matrix are formed. Next, color pastes are applied thereon with a spin coater and is subjected to exposing and developing by using a photomask, thereby, the color filter layer 10 is completed. Next, the pixel electrodes 16 and an oriented film 13 are formed, and the polarizing plate 17 is stuck to the substrate to complete the liquid crystal display device. |
