PURPOSE:To eliminate the need to move a cursor when there are plural conversion result errors and to improve converting operation by automatically moving the cursor to a next divided character unit and placing the divided character unit at the movement destination in a state wherein it can be reconverted when a desired conversion result is obtained by moving the cursor to a different divided character unit and reconverting only the divided character unit. CONSTITUTION:When a cursor moving device 109 freely moves the cursor on a converted character string displayed on a display screen to specify a character unit to be converted with the cursor, a display pointer 105 stores the position of the 1st candidate among candidates in a candidate list memory 104 to be displayed as the candidates, and when a fixed number of candidates starting at the candidate indicated by the display pointer 105 are sent to a candidate display memory 103, the contents of the candidate display memory 103 are displayed at a candidate display part of a display device 112. An operator looks at the conversion candidate and performs correcting operation when the candidate is different from the desired conversion result, thereby obtaining the desired conversion result. |
