PURPOSE:To secure a normal read visual field by deciding a deviation in the head position of a printed line when the final printed line is detected at a page mark read position, calculating the distance up to a normally readable position from the output of a read means, and moving the read means to the position. CONSTITUTION:An optical read unit 3 is stopped after being moved to a user characteristic position P, stored in the memory in a control part, where a page mark 20 can be read at right angles to a bankbook travel direction 23, and a page line read visual field 25 of length L is set. Then while the bankbook 19 is moved in the travel direction 23, the print information of the page mark 20 is inputted to the control part within the page line read visual field 25 in the range A-B, and the page mark 20 is analyzed. From C, the information of a printed line is inputted to the control part within the page line read visual field 25, and the printed line 21 is analyzed. The unit 3 generates level variation at a place of printing, but does not vary in level where no print is present. When the level varies by one character in the travel direction 23, the unit is stopped and moved back to C for rewriting. |
