PURPOSE:To provide a magnetic field generator which can generate a strong magnetic field in large air gap though it is a compact magnetic field generator. CONSTITUTION:A refrigerant container 1 is filled up with liquid refrigerant L consisting of liquid nitrogen so as to cool a coil. A tubular coil body 4 is provided inside a yoke 7, and also an accommodation container 5 is arranged in this center space. For this reason, the electric resistance of the coil body 4 is remarkably smaller than that at normal temperature, so even if it is a coil body where a coil wire is wound a large number of times, a large current can be let flow. Hereby, a ferromagnetic field can be generated in the air space though the coil body is compact. Moreover, since liquid refrigerant L can circulate between the coil wires 4a of the coil body 4, the calorific value generated in the coil body by joule heat is taken quickly by the latent heat at evaporation of the liquid refrigerant. |
