The viscosity of flocculated aq. slurries of mineral sludges in neutral or basic media during decantation, centrifugation and filtration is reduced by performing these operations in the presence of a polyacrylamide flocculant (I) with a molecular wt. above 10,000,000 and an acrylic acid polymer dispersant (II) with a molecular wt. below 50,000.
