PURPOSE:To provide a method for producing an embedded electrode suitable for mass-production in which the reliability is enhanced by preventing dielectric breakdown or short circuit, the resistance of the electrode is decreased, the number of production steps is decreased and intricate steps, e.g. brazing step, are eliminated. CONSTITUTION:The embedded electrode comprises a compact ceramic substrate 1, and a metal bulk electrode 9 embedded in the substrate 1. The substrate 1 surrounding the electrode 9 is sintered integrally and has no joint face. A ceramic molded item and the metal bulk electrode 9 are subjected to hot press sintering while applying pressure in the direction of thickness of the electrode 9 thus embedding the electrode 9 into the integrally sintered compact substrate 1 having no joint face. |
