PURPOSE:To perform an automatic playing with a smooth portamento by making the interpolation coefficients of a filtering means and the interpolation coefficients of a delaying means coincident when the interpolation coefficients of the filtering means are larger than the interpolation coefficients of the delaying means. CONSTITUTION:In an interpolation coefficent generating section H2, a tone color code TC and a portamento coefficient PRATE are inputted to a tube length interpolation coefficient generating section 14 and the section 14 outputs tube length interpolation coefficients DRATE. The tone color code TC and lead coefficients RRATE are inputted to a reed filter interpolation coefficient generation section 15 and the section 15 outputs reed filter interpolation coefficients RFR. A comparator 16 compares the DRATE and the RFR. A selector 17 does nothing to the RFR if the RFR are smaller than the DRATE and if the RFR are larger than the DRATE, outputs the DRATE to a reed filter frequency interpolation section H1 as interpolation coefficients RFRATE.
