PURPOSE:To rapidly and accurately control a semiconductor laser and to prevent an excess current damaging it from flowing by using the result data of last light emission power control and controlling it. CONSTITUTION:The data set from a CPU 7 to an A/D converter 9 when the optical power of the semiconductor laser 12 is feedback controlled through the CPU 7 and the converter 9 beforehand are stored in a flash ROM 8. The storage contents in the ROM 8 are read out by the CPU 7 when power source is turned on to be set to the converter 9, and the power of the laser 12 is controlled. By such a method, rapid and accurate control is performed, and the semiconductor laser is prevented from being damaged due to the excess current. |
