SUPERCONDUCTING CURRENT LIMITER

PURPOSE:To provide a superconducting current limiter in which a superconductor is made thin or its total length is made short so as to enhance the resistance value of a superconducting cylindrical body and in which the degradation of the strength or the degradation of the performance of the superconducting cylindrical body is suppressed as far as possible. CONSTITUTION:A coil 6 which is connected in series with a power transmission system is arranged and installed on the inner circumference or the outer circumference of a cylindrical body 2 which is formed by combining supercondcuting rings 3 with insulating rings 4. Thereby, the resistance value of the superconducting rings 3 is enhanced, and, as a result, the impedance of the coil 6 in a quenching operation can be increased.
