The circuit is for generating gate trigger pulse to trigger an SCR or a TRIAC. A zenor diode(ZD1) and a LED(LED1) are connected to AC input terminal via a variable resistor(R1) and zenor diode(ZD2) and a LED(LED2) are connected to another AC input terminal. Photo transistors(PTR1, PTR2) and resistors(R2,R3) are connected to DC terminal and emitter terminals of the transistors are connected to output terminals(6,7).
