PURPOSE:To perform the mapping of texure for an arbitrary polygon at high speed. CONSTITUTION:Two sides whose vertical direction locations on a display plane are equalized by at least part from graphic data showing a polygon and the two sides on a texture plane corresponding to these two sides are selected from a sort unit 21. Vertical interpolation circuits 34 and 35 interpolate the section equalizing the vertical direction location of the two selected sides on the display plane along the vertical direction on the display plane and generate plural horizontal line segments and the segment on the texture plane corresponding to each horizontal segment. A horizontal interpolation circuit 63 interpolates each horizontal generated line segment in the horizontal direction and generates each point on the display plane and the point on the texture plane corresponding to each of these points. The data of the previous pattern corresponding to each point on the generated texture plane is read from a texture memory 81 and the data is assigned to the location of the point on the display plane corresponding to each point. |
