The cover is formed by an assembly of adjacent plastics, etc., ground plates (1), whose corner regions (7) contain shaped recesses (8). The recesses of adjacent plates form a bolting aperture, into which can be inserted a coupler, securing the adjacent ground plates lockable in a plane-parallel surface to the plate surfaces (6).The coupler contains a rotary body, on which may be fitted shaped protrusions positively engaging the bolting aperture. The top end of the coupler body may contain an annular protrusion forming a plane-parallel closure of the plate surface, when inserted into the aperture.
