The appts. rotates about its centre of gravity, conducting photochemical reactions at a wavelength of 150-1000 nm. The horizontal lamp, once aligned, is surrounded by a holder for up to four filter glasses, and a shape, which may be used to obscure the lamp during operation. Reaction vessel mounted horizontally, at a variable distance from the lamp, orbit the common axis. Test material adsorbed on vessel walls is removed mechanically, at regular intervals. A suitable reaction vessel for the above appts. is also claimed.
