The digital filter consists of a control unit (52), an input buffer (51), a data store (53) accepting data from the input buffer, a ROM (58) storing multistage filter coefficients, an address generator (57) accessing the ROM (58) and an accumulator-multiplier (59).The data store also includes a multiplexer to select input from the data store or from the data store output to allow recirculation. The coefficients stored in the ROM (58) may also be arranged for use in a matrix operating process.
