A device (12) forms connected tubs (13) from a band of thermoplastic (10), forms another (26) then step-feeds the band. The internal base (13a) is pierced by a descending thermal lance (38), making a hole (15). Below, a system (30) step-feeds a non-thermoplastic (32) material, coated on top (32a) with thermal adhesive. Equipment (34, 36b) cuts off a strip of this (32); a heater (36), in-line below the lance (38), rises to stick it on the outside base (13a) sealing the detachable strip (40) all around the hole. In so doing, it (36) just butts against the lance (38) tip. In addition to the above equipment, the procedure for its use, is also claimed.
