Analogue fuzzy logic controller with multiplexers in inference circuit

The fuzzy logic controller is designed to be readily reconfigurable and is based upon analogue techniques. A number of input signals are applied (14) to a fuzzification stage where membership function values are determined, e.g. positive large, positive small, etc. Each of the membership functions has a specific shape, e.g. bell shaped and functions overlap.The outputs (16) are received by an inference circuit (18) that generates the same number of outputs that are fed to a de-fuzzification circuit (22) to provide analogue outputs (24) based upon a centre-of-gravity method.
