<p>The invention relates to a cover (1) for shielding an article (2) from incident heat energy, comprising a first, non-heat reflective, sheet of material (3), a sheet of material adapted to reflect heat (4), a layer of non-abrasive sheet material (5), the sheets (3 to 5) being superimposed and secured together to comprise a laminate, the cover (1) being tailored to provide a desired configuration. The cover (1) is a flexible thermal insulation cover tailored to fit a canopy of a cockpit of say an aircraft. There are peripheral pockets (6) which house releasable fastening hook means (12) for retaining the cover on an edge of the canopy. The cover (1) may be attached to a similar cover by a connector (11, 13) being an alignment indicating means.</p> |
