The grill has laterally separated longitudinal (5) and transverse bars, which are arranged across each other. The longitudinal bars pref. have an elongated cross-section, with the elongated axis running largely perpendicular to the plane of the grill.The longitudinal and/or transverse bars may have an oval cross-section, and the length to breadth ratio for the elongated bars may lie between 1.2 and 1.5 to 1. The bars may also be made from a manganese-steel alloy.
