The packaging for liquid (e.g. blood) containing food, e.g. meat, fish or poultry, has a bottom (1) and upstanding side walls (2). The bottom has bottom layer (3) and top layer (4) with liquid take up space (6). One or more aperture (8) are in connection with the liquid take up space, which is formed with a number of rim (5). The rims are through overflow rims (7) interconnected, thus allowing for e.g. overflow of blood or liquid.
