The protector consists of a profiled rod and protrusions. The post is surrounded, at least partly by a soft protection with a cavity for taking up impact forces.The free, vertical post (1) section is surrounded at its cross-section by a hollow damping profile (6) of impact absorbing material, which is thin-walled and arcuated in its operational position. It is secured on at least one profile protrusion (1b), engaging a groove. Pref. the post is of a double T-shape.
