The engine has a round working cylinder, which has at least 4 grooves piercing through it, which run parallel to its longitudinal axis. A segment panel or turntable fits into each groove in order to provide sealing.The working cylinder may also be designed without piercing grooves, if grooves in which lateral casing panels seal the cylinder, are located radially towards the centre of the cylinder, or slightly staggered from it. Lateral casing panels which move in grooves, and which also pierce through the working cylinder wall are also used.
