<p>Operating systems (OS) in the same form are stored in first and second memory areas. The OS in the first memory area is terminated (S201) and the OS in the second memory area is started (S202). After system files stored in the first memory area are unlocked, they are replaced with new files by using a file replacement function of the second OS (S204). When such a file replacement fails for some reason, the original file is immediately restored by using a backup file (S209). In this way, the present invention can provide a method of accomplishing updating of files which are not accessible by an OS and, at the time of failure of updating, restoring the old files.</p> |
