A sensor/display system for a road vehicle includes a load sensor which in use is fixed to a load bearing structure of the vehicle. A control unit is connected to the load sensor and generates a display output in response to data received from the load sensor. A display device connected to the control unit displays the load information. The control unit may include a comparator which compares the sensed loading with a predetermined threshold corresponding to the safe load limit of the vehicle. An indication is displayed on the display device when the threshold is exceeded. A data storage device may store load data from the sensor. Historical loading data from the store may be played back subsequently on the display device via the control unit.
