Closure system for compact plastic injection machine

A more compact construction for a plastics injection moulding machine with a double-toggle lever clamping system is achieved by positioning a drive unit in the principal axis (1) of the machine between the end platen (3) and the moving tool-carrying platen (4). The drive unit is supported on the end platen (3) and connected to the crosshead (5) of the toggle system (6), the crosshead (5) moving along guide pillars (8) parallel to the principal axis (1).
