A connection piece (1) for a power conducting chain is disclosed. A chain link (2) for such a power conducting chain is basically U-shaped with two lateral sections (4a, 4b) and a connecting stay (3) which connects the lateral sections. The lateral sections each have articulating sections by which the chain link is connected to the next link. The connecting stay of the connection piece (1) takes the form of a connecting plate (6). The articulating sections are those of a normal chain link. At least two holes (7a, 7b) can be drilled in the connecting plate (6) in a line along the longitudinal axis of the chain. The connection piece (1) can be used at either end of the power conducting chain in either one of two configurations.
