Pressure regulating valve for IC engine crank case

The valve has two chambers (3,4) separated from one another by a membrane (2). The first chamber (3) is connected to the surroundings by an opening (5), and the second chamber (4) is connected to the crank case by a suction pipe (6).The mouth (6') of the pipe can be closed by the membrane, or a valve (7) connected to it. The first chamber contains an emergency valve (10), in order to connect it to the surroundings via a larger equalisation opening (11), in the event of an underpressure condition. The emergency valve may also be formed from a bistable-membrane mounted against the chamber wall (1a).
