The butter pot press comprises a die at the outlet side to form an extruded butter formation. Behind the extrusion die contg. outlet of the press is fitted a periodically actuated cutter for the extruded butter.Pref. the press comprises a frame, to which the press cylinder is releasably coupled such that it can be exchanged for another cylinder with the press piston extended. The frame may have two beams, parallel to the press cylinder in operational state. The cylinder carries two radially protruding bolts. Each beam contains a counter bearing for a bolt retention, open to the press piston.
