Traffic light control circuit for service vehicle

The device supplements traffic light control for a service vehicle, e.g. a police car, fire engine, ambulance, etc. The vehicle contains an infra-red or microwave transmitter which, when switched on, sends out signals. The signals are picked up by a receiver attached to the traffic lights and are analysed so as to switch the lights to green in the direction of travel of the vehicle and to red for traffic crossing the path of the vehicle.The infra-red or microwave transmitter is attached to the roof of the vehicle. The output signals from the transmitter, with the help of the receiver, trigger e.g. an optical and/or acoustic signal to give warning to other road users.
