<p>The spit (2) is borne by two short struts (14) carried by horizontal beams (6). The beams (6) also support a drip pan (4) which is suspended below the spit. The spit is turned by a motor (3) which slides on a beam (15). A hand screw (24) engages the motor (3) shaft with the spit (2) through a flexible sleeve coupling. The horizontal beams (6) are supported on wheels (7) and they slide horizontally when a rack and pinion (10, 11, 13) is operated, thus adjusting the distance between the spit (2) and the vertical hearth (1). <IMAGE></p> |
