<p>An electro-rheological fluid comprises a hydrophobic liq. phase and electro-rheological particles dispersed therein. The particles comprise an electro-rheologically active core particle and a coating of at least one polysaccharide dispersible in a protic medium. The electro-rheological fluid is prepd. by admixing with a hydrophobic phase, particles obtd. by combining the particles with a sufficient amt. of protic medium to disperse the polysaccharide and provide a slurry and removing the protic medium to provide a solid.</p> |
