PURPOSE:To obtain a cushioning material, excellent in durability, flexibility and flame retardance without using asbestos and causing cracking or failure by impregnating a substrate comprising polybenzimidazole fibers, aramid fibers and glass fibers with a fluororesin. CONSTITUTION:This cushioning material is obtained by impregnating a substrate constituted of polybenzimidazole fibers, aramid fibers and glass fibers with a fluororesin. A substrate constituted of 10-25wt.% polybenzimidazole fibers, 10-40wt.% aramid fibers and 30-60wt.% glass fibers is used. The glass fibers are alkali-free glass fibers and the fluororesin is polytetrafluoroethylene. The resultant cushioning material is used as a clamping cushioning material for piping in aircraft. |
