PURPOSE:To form a constitution in a compact manner and detect torque taking all the weight of a manually operated part into consideration by a method wherein an electric motor torque detecting part is incorporated in a disc-form casing consisting of a casing on the fixed side and a casing on the rotation side rotated togetherwith a wheel. CONSTITUTION:A disc-form casing 5 comprises a casing 6 on the rotation side and a casing 7 on the fixed side, and the casing 6 on the rotation side is rotated integrally with a rear wheel 3. Further, an electric motor 8 is incorporated in the disc-form casing 5 and when electric drive is needed, the electric motor is driven and the casing 6 on the rotation side is rotated togetherwith an input driven part 10. Further, a torque detecting part is incorporated in the disc-form casing 5. The torque detecting part detects a force reactive to torque, i.e., an amount of a strain caused on a rotary shaft, when a pedal 11 is pedaled by a user, a driving force is transmitted through a chain 12 and the torque is caused at the casing 6 on the rotation side. |
