PURPOSE:To provide a method for producing an olefin having a double bond at one molecular chain terminal using a readily preparable and preservable catalyst excellent in catalytic activity and selectively. CONSTITUTION:This method for producing an olefin having a double bond at the molecular chain terminal is to use a catalyst system comprising the following components (A) and (B) or the components (A), (B) and (C) in a method for producing the olefin having the double bond at one molecular chain terminal by trimerizing one or more monomers selected from ethylene, propylene and 1-butene: (A) a chromium compound expressed by the formula CrXmYn [X denotes a carboxylic acid residue, a 1,3-diketone residue, a halogen atom or alkoxyl group; Y denotes amines, phosphines, phosphine oxides, nitrosyl group or ethers; m denotes an integer of 2-4; n denotes an integer of 0-4, (B) a heterocyclic compound, containing nitrogen and having a pyrrole structural unit and/or an imidazole ring structural unit and (C) an alkylaluminum compound expressed by the formula AlRkZ3-k [R denotes a 1-10C alkyl group or hydrogen atom; Z denotes a halogen atom; (k) denotes an integer of 0-3]. |
