A synthetic door frame includes an interior channel located around the edge of a door and into which mounting members are fitted for securing the synthetic door frame to a building. The synthetic door frame further includes a cap which fits over the channel and covers the frame mounting members. An additional fastening location is provided remote from the channel to allow the frame to be fitted to the building with the door closed.
