<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a micron-size multilayered polymer toner which is fixable at low temps. and excellent in friction resistance and/or cleaning resistance by subjecting a liq. dispersion comprising a dispersion medium contg. water and dispersoids contg. a polymerizable monomer with a double bond, resin particles, and a filler to shearing flow or stirring flow to conduct polymn. CONSTITUTION:A liq. dispersion wherein the resin particles and the dispersant for a filler have polar groups having opposite polarities and the particle sizes of the resin (RA) and the filler (RB) satisfy the relation: (RA+RB)<2>/RB<2>>121. A polymer toner having a filler layer is obtd. by using thermoplastic resin particles contg. a colorant as the resin particles and by using the resin particles and the filler having weakly acidic polar groups and weakly basic polar groups, respectively. The polymer toner shown by the figure, having a filler layer 102 contg. the filler 101 on the surface, is excellent in abrasion resistance and also in low-temp. fixability because the resins 103 and 104 are each a thermoplastic resin having a low softening point.</p> |
