PURPOSE:To remove a malodor at room temp. and a low cost by adsorbing a high concn. gaseous amine on an adsorbent obtd. by treating grass peat with dil. sulfuric acid and air-drying it. CONSTITUTION:Grass peat derived from trees and plants and produced by withering, deposition and degradation in water in a cold district contains >=50% water, >=10% humin of an amorphous org. acid polymer and >=10% vegetable fibers. Attention is paid to the high water retentivity of grass peat and an adsorbent is obtd. by increasing the acidity of water contained in grass peat by treatment with a dil. sulfuric acid and air-drying the grass peat. This adsorbent is packed into an atmospheric pressure fixed bed circulation system and raw gas is introduced from the lower layer of the adsorbent and circulated through an adsorption tube. Amine type malodorous gas such as ammonia or monomethylamine is made odorless by adsorption on the adsorbent to high concn.
|
