PURPOSE:To inhibit deformation at the time of cutting out a bar and at the time of grinding, to enable fine working, to ensure low adsorbing force and frictional force to a disk and to improve sliding characteristics by incorporating specified zirconium oxide and alumina. CONSTITUTION:A powdery mixture contg. 20-50vol.% zirconium oxide of 0.4-5mum average grain size contg. 2.5-3.5mol% Yb2O3 and 80-50vol.% alumina is filled into a metallic mold, compacted under about 1.5ton/cm<2> pressure and fired at 1,500-1,800 deg.C in an oxidizing or reducing atmosphere to obtain the objective nonmagnetic ceramics for a recording-reproducing head contg. zirconium oxide of 2-5mum average grain size and alumina. |
