PURPOSE:To cope with an increase in the quantity of data such as a two-dimensional bar code in a thermal recording medium having a structure wherein a base material, a coloring layer, a thermal sensitizing layer, a metal membrane layer and a heat-resistant protective layer are successively laminated and an image is formed by utilizing the shrinkage destruction of the metal membrane layer. CONSTITUTION:In a thermal recording medium constituted by successively laminating a base material 1, a coloring layer 2, a thermal sensitizing layer 3, a metal membrane layer 4 and a heat-resistant protective layer 6, an infrared absorbable pattern layer 5 incapable of being discriminated visually but capable of being discriminated by an IR detector is formed between the metal membrane layer 4 and the heat-resistant protective layer. |
