摘要 PURPOSE:To check any hunting at ignition timing as well as to lessen a variation in the output torque of an internal combustion engine. CONSTITUTION:When a compensation factor for overheat prevention FOTPQ to check any exhaust temperature rise in an engine becomes larger than a compensation factor for output increment FOTPP and a fundamental injection quantity is compensated for increment by an increment compensation factor TOTP reflected by the compensation factor FOTPQ, an output increasing compensation value thetaPWR to increase the extent of output torque in the engine is added to a basic ignition timing thetaBASE and the ignition timing theta is controlled for advance (steps 318 to 320). When the ignition timing theta arrives, an air-fuel mixture is ignited by an igniter. The compensation factor FOTPQ comprises a control delay corresponding compensation factor FRTD to check the exhaust temperature rise in the engine by delaying the basic ignition timing thetaBASE in order to avoid generating any knocking, and when this FRTD is more than the compensation factor FOTPP, the compensation value thetaPWR is not added to the basic ignition timing thetaBASE, and this basic ignition timing thetaBASE itself is set to the ignition timing theta (steps 317 and 321).
