PURPOSE:To detect a printing head temperature surely with a simple constitution and, further, prevent useless operation such as the replacement of a thermistor upon replacing the printing head. CONSTITUTION:In a printing head temperature detector for a printer, which is equipped with a carrier having a printing head 12, mounted detachably, and a connector 16 for supplying the printing head with a control signal, a connector 16 is abutted against the printing head upon mounting the printing head 12 and is provided with a heat conductive gland terminal 19a while the carrier is provided with a thermistor abutted against the gland terminal of the connector 16. The temperature of the printing head is detected indirectly by detecting the temperature of the gland terminal. |
