PURPOSE:To efficiently conduct deodorization by providing a physisorptive first deodorant bed on the upstream side and an oxidation-catalyst second deodorant bed on the downstream side, arranging a heating element on the respective upper sides (upstream side), energizing the heating element of the second bed to be heated when in use and performing adsorption at a relatively low temp. and oxidative decomposition at a relatively high temp. and to desorb the malodor in the first bed by energizing both heating elements to regenerate the deodorants and to prolong the service life of the deodorant. CONSTITUTION:A heating element 9, a first deodorant bed 3 having a phsisorptive deodorant 5 (active carbon), a heating element 10 and a second deodorant bed 4 contg. an oxidation catalyst carrying metallic manganese 8 are successively arranged from the upstream side. The heating element 10 is energized to perform adsorption and oxidative decomposition respectively at an optimum temp., and the heating elements 9 and 10 are energized to desorb malodor from the bed 3, to decompose the malodor in the second deodorant bed and to regenerate the deodorant. |
