PURPOSE:To prepare a livestock feed capable of promoting the effective utiliza tion of the nutrient components of feed and improving the growth and feed conversion ratio of livestock fed with the feed by adding a cellulase produced by a microbial strain belonging to the genus Acremonium. CONSTITUTION:A microbial strain belonging to the genus Acremonium and capable of producing cellulase [e.g., Acremonium cellulolyticus (FEM BP-685)] is inoculated to a cellulose-containing medium and cultured at 30 deg.C for 6 days under aeration. The cultured product is separated by centrifugal separation and the supernatant is collected to obtain a cellulase produced by the microorganism of the genus Acremonium. This livestock feed incorporated with the cellulase and capable of improving the growth and the feed conversion ratio of livestock can be produced by adding the acremonium cellulase to a livestock feed prepared from corn, roast wheat, wheat flour, wheat bran, soya oil meal, etc. |
