Automatic winding machine provided with a turret which has a rotary shaft for supporting a reel (spool) and a motor enabling this rotary shaft to rotate, and it is provided with a mouthpiece for supplying wire to the reel; it also comprises a mechanism for the rotation of the turret and a mechanism for fixing the turret in a predetermined position of rotation. Therefore, the rotary shaft of the reel is able to tilt depending on the direction of projection of a terminal pivot on the reel and the anchoring of the wire around the pivot can be achieved easily. By means of a mechanism for displacing the turret in three dimensions, the machine can be adapted for other operations which can be automated. By connecting an anchoring pivot to the turret, to which the wire has been temporarily connected, tying of the wire to the terminal pivot of the reel can efficiently be achieved. <IMAGE>
