<p>In an automatic knitting machine, an improved fabric take-down device includes a series of fabric holding parts (22) located beneath two needle beds (1, 2), for gripping the fabric (3) being formed. The fabric holding parts (22) include rocking clamps (23) which are pivoted to a support member (11) and push against a stop member (10). The support member (11) and the stop member (10) are fastened to a reciprocating slide (28), that moves between two positions, a raised position where the fabric (3) is clamped, and a lowered position where the fabric (3) is released. A series of cams (17) provoke oscillation of the clamps (23) to close the holding parts (22), in suitable time relation with formation of the fabric (3) rows, when the slide (28) is in the raised position.</p> |
