The seat damper for a heavy duty vehicle comprises a rectangular upper frame (1), a rectangular lower frame (9), an X-shaped linkage (5) and a hydraulic damper (25) located between the two frames. A spring link (12) with an end roller (13) is prepared for helping the damping motion of the upper frame. The upper frame includes two coil springs (14, 14') and a weight adjusting knob (16) for setting the spring force according to the passengers' weight. The lower frame has a pair of slide rails (8') on which the rear end rollers of the X-shaped linkage may slide while its front end is fixed by a hinge pin (6').
