The apparatus and method is for testing characteristics of an rotary transformer automatically. The apparatus comprises test terminals connected to terminals of an rotary transformer, matrix switch connected to the test terminals one to one, a LCR meter for measuring terminal impedances of an rotary transformer through switch, and a computer for controlling matrix switch and processing measured terminal impedances.
