PURPOSE:To pack an article with a cushioning member fitted around the angle part of the article and prevent a fracture of a cushioning member as mush as possible when a stress is applied. CONSTITUTION:An article A is packed, with a foamed-polystyrene cushioning member 14 fitted around its upper corner. In the cushioning member 14, the part which is fitted to the front of the article A is relatively thick, and the part which is fitted to the right side of it is thin. A recess 16 is made in the external surface of the thick part of the cushioning member 14. In the inside corner of the cushioning member 14, which coincides with the angle part (a) of the article A is a groove 17 for absorbing a stress, which has a U-shaped cross section, extends vertically along the angle part (a), and has a depth between the front and back of it. The width of the groove 17 is, for example, 5-10mm, and its depth is 1/10(t)-1/3(t) with respect to the thickness (t) of the part in which the groove 17 is made. |
